Navic

The Navic is a motorized scanning system. It is designed to translate probes in both raster and weld scanning applications. The remote operated, steerable scanning platform is capable of circumferential scans from 60mm (2 3/8”) minimum OD to fl at surfaces. The Navic can operate as either a single pod 2-wheel-drive or dual pod 4-wheel drive scanner, providing consistent scanning motion in both circumferential and longitudinal applications.

Navic's Key features are:

Low Profi le Design: The Navic maintains a radial clearance of 70mm (2.75”) on pipes under 200mm (8”) OD and 81.5 mm (3.2”) on pipes over 200mm (8”) OD, which allows for inspection in limited access applications.  Magnetic Wheels: Using rare-earth magnetic wheels, the Navic can operate on vertical, horizontal, and inverted surfaces. Steerable Operation: The Navic is steerable in tank, vessel and large pipe scanning applications. Modular Design: The Navic can operate as either a single pod 2-wheel-drive or dual pod 4-wheel drive scanner, providing consistent scanning motion in either confi guration. Scan Versatility: The Navic can facilitate circumferential scans on pipes as small as 60mm (2-3/8”) OD and 610mm (24”) ID. Scanning of longitudinal seams and fl at surfaces are also possible.
