SCANNER - Pipe Inspection Systems
SCANNER systems are automated ultrasonic inspection solutions developed for non-destructive testing of seamless and welded pipes. Designed to be integrated into production lines, these systems provide high-precision defect detection and real-time quality control. The SCAN-P and SCAN-G models offer flexible configurations optimized for different manufacturing requirements.
SCAN-P operates with partial immersion technology integrated into roller conveyor lines, enabling helical scanning of pipes. A test basin lifts from below, preventing coupling water from entering the pipe. This design allows reliable detection of internal and external surface cracks, volumetric defects and accurate wall thickness measurement. Using phased array ultrasonic technology, transverse, longitudinal and oblique cracks can be detected. The movable test basin minimizes untested areas at pipe ends.
SCAN-G utilizes a gantry-based inspection concept and supports both conventional and phased array ultrasonic technologies. Pipes are rotated beneath the gantry while inspection carriages move longitudinally, creating a helical scanning pattern for full-body inspection. For ERW or SAW welded pipes, the system inspects the weld seam by positioning the pipe at the 12 o’clock position and scanning longitudinally along the seam. The number of carriages and testing technologies are customized according to project requirements.
