Detection of internal flaws is quite a difficult yet classical task for ultrasonic testing methods. Besides NORDINKRAFT, there are several companies in the world, which offer automated ultrasonic testing equipment that is capable of detecting internal defects in bars and billets. At that, most manufacturers of such UT equipment use piezoelectric transducers that emit and receive ultrasound through a coupling medium.
